(i)      short term management skills,

(ii)     long term management skills,

(iii)    therapeutic skills,

(iv)    preventive care & self care   

        information,

(v)     ethics, law, & professionalism

d)     50 case diary commentary & oral examination  – continued

e)     The clinical examination – long cases (2) and short cases (4)

The learning objectives are

a)    to be proficient in holistic, integrated case approach, and

b)    to be proficient in the clinical approach and examination of the various organ systems and patient groups.

Audit Course Workshop –

2 sessions.

Candidates are required to submit a audit case report and this will be examined in the oral examination

Medical Ethics, Professionalism and Health Law Course – 2.5 day course conducted by SMA.

 

This is a course with emphasis on ethics and law.

Compulsory attendance

 

Administrative notes on teaching scope, learning objectives, and teaching methods:

·   The mega sessions will show concepts and standards to be achieved in the training.

·   The clinical sessions will teach clinical skills and problem solving – through various methods – case clerking and presentation, clinical skills cases, and role play of interview and examination techniques.

·   The clinical case conferences will be presentations by trainees of cases seen and clerked for discussion and group learning.
